So Sad...
You seek only to malign quite possibly one of the best films ever to grace celluloid.
Weak minded and simple, the lot of you homosexual plot seekers.

There is a story that Winston Churchill was invited to mess with a Royal Navy unit. The story may be apocryphal, but it is funny. The PM wants only to eat his dinner, drink some brandy (or something) and chat. The mess insists that he propose a toast. His supposed toast is the punchline:
"To the Royal Navy, two hundred years of grog, buggery, and the lash unstained by progress."
Buggery (also known as Sodomy or homosexual acts) have been against the Laws of War since there has been a Royal Navy. Nevertheless, the able seaman sodomite (or gay man) is one of the oldest stereotypes in the world.
The best diplomat I know is a fully charged phaser bank.
The fact that Churchill served in the British Army and not the Navy may have much to do with this disparaging comment.
There are also many (including Churchill) that claim he never said it.
The most consistent origin of the quote comes from an incident in which he was having trouble with some of his admirals at a strategy meeting. One of them accused him of having impugned the traditions of the Royal Navy, provoking the reply: 'And what are they? They are rum, sodomy and the lash'.
Of course there have been sailors that commit sodomy aboard ships since the beginning of time. But that doesn't mean every story about ships and sailors just automatically have it as their underlying theme.

Thank you. Some people seem to need the illusory validation of seeing their own personal agenda as a subtext of everything under the sun. And unfortunately we now live in a world which indulges such things in the name of political correctness.
