The Adult Western
I remember this as one of the few westerns on television during the sixties that was actually aimed at an adult audience.
Considering the time, that was rare.
Yes 'The Virginian' was an adult oriented 60s TV western series. It is one of my favorites unless the storyline was too romantic. James Drury and Doug McClure did their homework and were naturals in their roles. The 60s saw some of the best and worst for TV viewing. 'The Virginian' was one of the best.
