Western Channel has already skipped 2 episodes

I wonder if the episodes were not avaialble, they skipped an episode on the Bret Maverick series also

I wondered the same thing (not available or not "appropriate" these days?). They've also shown episodes out of order. On Maverick... they've been showing it alot longer, haven't they? Like Have Gun - Will Travel and Gunsmoke, where they've been on the channel for a much longer time.

Did Encore say for sure they would not air season 9? We've been watching since the New Years marathon, and I feel we have no way seen every ep of every season. A lot of what we have seen seems to be out of consecutive order, and sometimes the ep that is listed, is not what actually airs. I loved this series as a little girl ( I was SO in love with Trampas), along with Bonanza, Gunsmoke and High Chapparal. Little Joe's paint horse is the reason that my husband and I have bred Paint horses for the past 20+ years. I would love to have the entire series on DVD, but even if it were all available, it's not in the budget right now. I'm glad that Encore will start repeating the series though, rather than end it.

Hi Diana, thanks for the greetings!

I'm a tad older than you, 1963 here, but 1977 was an excellent year for me, I got my first horse!! Glad to know you love to ride, even if you don't own any at the time. I agree with the hayburner part, lol!

I caught most of the earlier seasons as reruns, somewhere around 8 years of age I believe, while catching the later part of the series as it was airing. I totally agree with you, Tim Matheson was a total cutie back then (remember The Quest, with Kurt Russell?), and still is. It's been really fun watching him on season 8. I've done some back tracking and figuring, and I realize that you are right and Encore hasn't missed any seasons. I was calculating based on 1 ep a week for most of a year. I stupidly didn't realize that I've been dvr-ing them 5 eps a week, M-F (duh to me) and that explains how we've zipped through 8 seasons. I've checked my "to do" list and the final 2 eps of S8 are listed and then it starts over with the The Executioners. We're going to keep on going through them. We have a 43" plasma and I have to say these shows are still looking really good when we watch, but if I burn to dvd I lose quite a bit of quality. Maybe I'll consider it anyway, since we're starting over. The timing would be perfect! I remember reading the novel somewhere around Jr. High or High School, and have to say I was bummed that Trampas was the bad guy, lol.

I have to agree with you about Manolito! He was actually my favorite too, lol. I always thought Blue was just a tad too whiny at times, although he was quite cute. Linda was definitely goreous! My main 3 "man" loves were the Virginian, Trampas and Little Joe, lol. I actually met Michael Landon before he died, he and his wife Cindy lived in Malibu and I did too for 5 years, back in the 80's. They would develop their film at the photo store that I worked at after college.

Well, time to be social and check my facebook for the evening and upload some pics I've been to busy to do since last weekend. Have a super time with your Passion Pistol :)
