Doug McClure, adorable Dad

Today's ep on Encore Westerns was "The Small Parade," with David Wayne and Barbara Barrie, guest-starring.

Also starring were a clutch of children, one of whom, Tane McClure, was Doug's daughter. They had an adorable scene together where little Tane was sitting on "Trampas's" lap. Doug adored his daughter - you could see it in his eyes.

A little later, Ms. Barrie was doing what she did best - act, as she recited from memory the indelible scene of "Please, sir, may I have some more," from "Oliver Twist." Tears pooled in Doug's eyes as he was caught up in the story and hard life of that Victorian boy.

It's a wonderful episode.

Btw, Tane McClure grew into a gorgeous young woman, not surprising considering how beautiful her father was.

This was the episode they played today. Having read your post a couple weeks ago (just recently started watching the show and have become a huge fan), I paid special attention to the way Trampas interacted with Betty, and you're very right, you could see Doug's love for his daughter in his eyes and expression. I'm a guy but I've got a very soft heart and it was sweet, to say the least.

Terrific episode.

Thanks a lots for the information, dint know the litle girl was Dougs Daughter. 1 of the best episodes, I think. BTW. Saw where starting 1-1-2011 The 'Wagontrain' Seris; will be starting on Encore-Westerns. Hope not, but it will probably take 'The Virginians' place. Thanks "Virginian Fans"

Nope, it's bumping Cheyenne. For which I'm grateful. I enjoy Cheyenne, but the last few months they seem to be reshowing the same 20 or 30 episodes. Not the *best* 20 or 30 episodes either.
