Randy Boone in First to Thine Own Self

I was wondering if anyone caught on the the song Randy sang as being one of Hank Williams songs that was wrote in 1949, I'm so lonesome I could die, not in the 1800's. But it did go with the storyline.

Did not notice this but will watch for it in future viewings. Good eye or should I say good ear!

"Can I ask a dumb question?"
"Better than anyone I know!"

Seems they did that, in later seasons. It seemed they tried to keep music appropriate to the time in the first season or two. Then, when they brought in Randy (and Betsy started to sing more often), they would use semi-contemporary music.

yes i noticed that also, but i surely do enjoy randy's singing and betsy also but randy's songs make me laugh. I really liked the one he sang about women, in the one where the girl stayed with them that her pa was an outlaw. it was the one where randy fell off the horse he was trying to break and wound up paralyzed. she helped him with his exercises.

I remember that episode. You'll see that young lady again, I think in a later season. She was one of their favorites I think (along with the actress who played Tabby in The Devil's Children).

Randy had a very nice voice, I liked it better than his cousin's (Pat Boone).
