The Ending Days Of 'The Virginian' Are Drawing Nye___

Well just a few more episodes of The Virginian remain.4:30 PM. EST. is sacred ground in our bunkhouse. Sure look forwards to it ever day. The episode last week where "Shiloh" was burned down, shows a lots of Character in the Folks that wrote it. No Quiters & and at The Git Go, the "Shiloh" hands, stood by Their Guns.. In my humble opinion and 'I have been known to be wrong':-), But I feel Mr. John McIntire is by far, The Best Owner "Shiloh" has ever had. Elizabeth, Holly & James are Keepers. Jeanette Nolan- "Dirty Sally", loved her on "Gunsmoke", Love her on The Virginian. Mr. Clay- McIntire- What a Trail Boss on Wagon Train.. His face just 'Shows 1 Authority & A Determined Spirit'.. First became acquainted with 'James'- Mr. 'Tim Matherson' on HBO's production of the 4 part stage play______ Bus Stop________ As Bo Decker". Co-Starring The Great Mr. Barry Corbin". Who could ever forget 'Tim' in "Animal House" :-) :-). My Lovely Wife of 42 Years melts when "Trampas" comes on the scene.. I really didnt know "The Men From Shiloh" wouldnt air. Well my DVR is all loaded up with "The Virginian", so We'll just watch it. And Sing "Happy Trails". Thanks.

I will give you a C- in spelling,because you were,no doubt,in a hurry when you
wrote "GALIC"and "diarreah!"
Interesting trait regarding soldiers who really saw action..in that almost to a man they do not talk/brag/even whisper about it.To coin a movie line from Nickk Nolte,actor.."See what I mean?"

Today is Tuesday, November, 16, 2010, and the first episode of The Virginian is on the Encore Western Channel at 4:30 p.m. PST. I love The Virginian, the book, the character, and the series. I agree with Gunny's analysis of the actors. The show had marvelous, incredible guest stars, but the stars of the show were the best, particularly James Drury, Gary Clarke, and Doug McClure. Roberta Shore was my favorite of the young women. I also liked John McIntire and Jeanette Nolan as the best owners of Shiloh. Lee J. Cobb was an excellent actor, but he seldom smiled as the Judge.

I wish the channel had shown Men From Shiloh. I just have a vague remembrance of it from being a child.

To "All" 'The Virginian Fans On Board', I wish to Apologize for the rather harsh language I may have used in my rebuttal to Mr. Valentine on here. After 25 years In "The Corps" Old Habits Die a Slow Death. "Having Said This, "After Having My Say, & Too Add; " I Fought For & Respect Others Opinions, Just Respect Mine Also".. And 'Mr. Valentine Having His Say", I Wish To Put It Behind Us and Move On Too 'The Main Purpose Of This Board". 'The Virginian Series' and 'The Fans On Heres, Praise, Likes and Dis-Likes Of The Series'. " OH Yes, It Was So Good To See Betsy and Steve Again Yesterday.'The Executioners-Episode'... Just Waiting On Randy Now.___________ Thank You All & Happy Trails.

First off, thank you for service! Now a couple of interesting side notes: John
McIntyre and Jeanette Nolan were real life husband and wife. I guess this helped
make their scenes more realistic. Tim Mathieson started as a child actor, appearing in the last two seasons of "Leave It To Beaver" as one of the Beav's
jr. high friends.
