What was up with Shelly Winters?

That had to be one of the strangest yet entertaining interviews on the Tonight Show.

Was she drunk? What was she rambling on about? And then she forgot that she was in a movie with Potts.

I was watching this last night and thought the same thing. That woman was on the sauce. I was thinking was Anne Potts an extra in the movie she did with Shelley Winters, but apparently she remembered her. Lmao!

It was awful. While I've enjoyed seeing Johnny on Antenna TV, that was probably the worst episode I've seen yet.

To each his own -- I thought it was the best episode they've shown so far. I ran back the bit between Shelley and Potts 3 times and laughed every time.
One thing I remember about watching Carson when I was a kid was that you never knew what to expect, anything could happen... this was one of those episodes to me.

I watched that several times too. So funny. Shelly having no idea who Potts was in the movie they did together and then telling her "you were wonderful" was absolutely amazing. Johnny's mortified look calling BS on the whole thing made it even better.

Yeah, I loved those looks he gave and then when he asked her, "What the hell are you going on about?" and you could tell the audience was thinking the same thing when they burst into loud applause.
