Burt Reynolds

Should have had his own show.

Reynolds is one of the great raconteurs of Hollywood. Any time he was on a talk show, his stories were always entertaining. And he bridged the Golden Age of Hollywood with the new Cinema of the 60s and 70s so he knew everyone and had stories about everyone.

And he was one of the best guest hosts of the Tonight Show. Funny, charming... never took himself too seriously and a real man's man.

Too bad there are no actors like him left in the world.

That was one of the best and funniest things that I've ever seen not only on the Tonight Show but in all of TV.

And Adam Sandler playing a QB in The Longest Yard remake? That schmuck does not look like a tough football player at all.
Waterboy? Not even. He is a zero compared to Reynolds in any sports movie.
Sandler does not earn the right to even hold Reynolds jock strap.

I'm by no means a fan of Burt Reynolds but I always enjoyed his appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny. I don't remember the episode with all of the whipped cream (the original episode not the one that was re ran this week). I was shocked when they played the footage from the original whipped cream episode and Johnny rubbed the whipped cream into Burt's bulge area of his pants. Really surprised they were able to show that back then.
