Very important writer who also silenced Carson audience w/his captivating conversations. No one is allowed or even able to do that on tv today w/o execs worrying about immature laughs every second.
shareI wonder what murder case he was talking about.
Anyone know?
I have no idea. One minute he was talking about Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird" then he was just rambling on. I was wondering if he was drunk or on coke.

I could follow along. You just have to listen to what Johnny was asking.
Maybe you didn't like it, but I was captivated.
He asked if Capote would ever write another true crime story and then he talked about a really bizarre case that did intrigue him but was reluctant to take it on.
It turns out later that Truman did write about it. It is hard to tell if it is true or not but it looks like this weird crime story really did happen after I found a story about it on the web.
He wrote the book, "In Cold Blood" the true story of a Kansas murder. Turned into a movie with Robert Blake as Perry, one of the killers, and John Forsythe I believe was the sheriff.
