R.I.P Nancy Reagan

She belonged to another time, when Hollywood was more talented and more civilized and elegant. You can see her hosting Parties when Ronnie was the Governor of California, elegant parties, full of elegant graceful well mannered people, many of the people who would appear on the Carson show, the people who had been though the War, through the fifties and then when things were changing in the sixties, when things were becoming much less elegant, when things were becoming slovenly and more in your face, classless, when people were forgetting what grace was. Another War came, that changed everything, and then there was the pill and women lib, and then America lost a War, and Iranians were taking hostages. When Nancy and Ronnie took residence in the White house, they returned to ways they knew so fondly, and brought grace and elegance back to the United States of America.

One of the first things that comes to my mind when I think of Nancy Reagan is how, during the first inauguration of her husband, she threw a party at which the party planners were instructed to throw rose petals into the toilets so that she and the other socialites attending could show off their wealth by relieving themselves all over the petals. Such grace...such elegance...such wretched excess.

Funny that you mention that because when Nancy was still an actress in Hollywood, she was infamous for giving the best blow jobs in town and bunches of men celebs got it from her.
....and Iranians were taking hostages.

And Reagan, while he was running for president against Jimmy Carter, made sure that those hostages would stay in Iran by selling them arms for their war against Iraq.
It was not a coincidence that the hostages were freed the same day that Ron was inaugurated. That was all well planned.

Carter is the best ex president we've ever seen.

While other ex presidents show up to make a speech for 6 figures that someone else wrote for them, Jimmy has been out there lifting a hammer and helping with building homes for the poor. He has also gone to other countries to do what he can help out with the poor there and he has set up some kind of center for peace.
Jimmy puts other ex presidents to shame who just jump out of air planes and other nonsense BS in their retirement.

And frankly, I think both Bushes were the worst presidents we ever had. At least Carter didn't start any wars.

Really? You got pleasure out of Reagan using the hostages that way, and making
his arms for hostages deal in the first place? Reagan and his wife set the tone for the 1980s--cold-blooded, cruel, nasty, and greedy. There was nothing elegant or classy about this couple. Both were churlish opportunists who lived in a fantasy world in which Reagan lived out adventures from old movies in his head while his wife vowed vengeance on anyone who dared take attention from her, especially political wives who were more likeable than she was (which was just about everybody--she loathed the more approachable, popular Betty Ford and the younger, more attractive Raisa Gorbachev, for instance). To get a better picture of these two, look into Martin Dugard's book Killing Reagan.

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!
