Coat lining?

In my memory I thought Johnny Carson would open his suit coat and show the lining. But watching it on Antenna TV he is not doing that. Does anyone remember this?

Maybe your thinking of another? Didn't Dave do that?

He did do it occasionally when the lining was in a contrasting color or unusual. The last one I remember was a couple of weeks ago, and was red.
