Carson passed away
MSNBC just reported the passing of Johnny Carson. Terrible news.
shareI'm beyond heartbroken to hear that Johnny Carson has passed away. What a class act he was. He left at the top of his game; he left the audience wanting more. And we could never have gotten enough.
How about favorite moments? Ed Ames and the tomahawk. Dolly Parton and "I'd give a year's salary to take a peek under there." Joan Embry and the animals. The list is endless.
After Johnny retired from "The Tonight Show", his unannounced walk-on at "The David Letterman Show" was unforgettable. He never said a word -- walked on, sat behind Letterman's desk for a moment, acknowledged the audience (which was on its feet, wildly screaming and applauding), then walked off. Never said a word.
As unassuming as he was, Johnny Carson changed TV forever. And there will never be another like him. Lots of imitators and wannabees, but that's as close as they'll ever get.
...One Nation, UNDER GOD...

We've picked up AntennaTV which shows "Tonight Show" episodes every night (11 p.m. during the week, 10 p.m. on weekends; all times ET). I'm glued to it again as I was many years ago. Carson made the other pretenders to his throne look bad then -- and they still don't look as good today as he did then.
Really miss him.
Heck is where people go who don't believe in Gosh.
