Robin Williams (1982)

Am I the only one who laughed until tears came out at how he was acting on the show? I seen him on another episode I think it was 1989 and he was becoming a bit obnoxious but he was *beep* hilarious on this episode. Who watched?

Yeah I watched it! He was always so funny! He always cracks me up! His hair was so staticky! Did you notice? :) It kept standing up and he kept pushing his hair down! Hahaha. Watching him also made me sad. I miss him and want him back. :(

Watching him also made me sad.
It doesn't happen all the time, but that was my first takeaway when watching him crack jokes during the interview.

No, not the mind probe!

I never cared all that much for Mork & Mindy. Well I was born when the show was in reruns but never liked it that much, but Robin Williams did movies that were funny and some I didn't care for so much, but I mean who knows what he was dealing with back then, and obviously no one really knew but he was so funny on Carson especially when he did Richard Simmons. Even Johnny made fun of him. All in all,Robin Williams was a true talent. It's still sad he killed himself.

Frankly , I think RW's comedy is overrated. Half the time I can't follow what he is saying and the other half, I don't get it.
I just didn't find his stand up all that funny.

He was a true and rare talent in the movies where he could go from being really silly and goofy to being downright dramatic and very serious or even creepy as he is in One Hour Photo.

The Crazy Ones was just downright awful. I tried only one and that was enough for me. I don't remember if I even watched the whole episode. It was that bad.

I remember an appearance on the Tonight Show Robin Williams made in 1987 during the holidays (he might have been promoting Good Morning Vietnam) when he came out as the first guest *before* Bob Hope, who came on after him. Robin was hilarious and when Bob Hope came out he was clearly flustered: "How do I follow that?"

I have that one on DVD with Williams and Hope. It was a funny show. Williams was at his best then. But I thought his act got tired after a while. I always wanted to see a sort of serious interview with him but he always went into his act.
