Noticing this a lot lately. Johnny will bring out some "in the news" person who did something strange or amazing, then after the break will introduce a celebrity by saying "My first guest tonight..."
Was that a normal thing or are these being rearranged for whatever reason? Seems strange to have people on and then dismiss them after the commercial.
Yes, I have noticed this also. He did it many times.
And I think the explanation to it is really simple.
"My first guest tonight" meaning a person that would participate for a full interview by Johnny.
Anybody that would appear on the show prior to the "first guest"
would not be considered a true guest in the sense of being famous or
a performer of some kind, etc. Just an ordinary person doing some
stupid trick or somebody from the audience, e.g.
