I was surprised to see the tv show The Saint ran for 8 years. I grew up during this period and I'm pretty sure it didn't air in the U.S. that many years. Does anyone know how long the series aired in the U.S.?
As a kid I fell in love with Roger Moore as Beau Maverick in the Maverick tv series and when we found him in the Saint finally on US tv, we rarely missed an episode.
Also, are all 8 seasons of the Saint out on dvd anywhere?
In the US, all the color seasons and the first two black and white seasons were issued on DVD several years ago. I don't know whether new ones are available or not. You might check ebay for used ones. I believe it was A&E that distributed the DVDs and I remember begging and begging them to get us the other two or three b&w seasons. They didn't care, because by then A&E had decided to move from the channel of The Avengers, The Saint, the Horatio Hornblower series, and Lovejoy into the Dog the Bounty Hunter channel. So much for the diversity of 500 channels, huh?
