The High Fence

SPOILER - I note a problem with Simon's explanation of how he winkled out the true villain. One of the reasons was he said Quincy had only pistol whipped the Fence and not shot him as he was running away which wasn't like Quincy as he had killed 2 people already (one with a perfect distance shot through the door) and had missed Simon twice (at VERY close range). Well, Quincy had shot at Simon 3 times and the 3rd time his gun jammed or misfired (boy, old Simon is the luckiest guy on tv) so why would Simon assume the gun would work the next instant when Quincy ran out into the back alley? Also the Fence had said something about the inefficiency of Scotland Yard. Really? Every writer from Arthur Conan Doyle till now has taken a shot at Scotland Yard and an ex-officer from Scotland Yard maybe had a better right to comment than anyone else on the subject.
