Anyone else love Ivor Dean as Inspector Teale?

I love Teale so much. Love the banter between him and Simon and how he's always trying to catch him but admires/respects him at the same time.

Ivor is a great character actor and does a wonderful job here. I think he and Roger have good chemistry and I always look forward to an episode featuring Teale.

Absolutely! Ivor Dean was a great character actor and a joy to watch in anything he turned up in. His world-weary disposition and sardonic expression always made me laugh. As you say, his relationship with the Saint was a highlight of the series.

Of course, Dean played a virtual carbon copy of Teale a number of times as Inspector Large in the original Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). Have you seen it? He was brilliant in that too - always trying to catch out Mike Pratt's hapless Jeff Randall character. Classic stuff!

Oh yes! Great character banter is a highlight of any series, and Simon and Teal have some shining exchanges. Any time they share the screen, it's classic. And I love the times they actually have to team up to solve crimes.

Could not agree more. I loved Teal. He was great on The Saint and Randall and Hopkirk. He also has a small part as an undertaker on Roger Moore's other series, The Persuaders. I need to dig that episode up and watch it again.

I have to admit that I'm always a little disappointed when the episode is set outside of England, because Claude Eustase isn't in it.
