If you check out the official Davey And Goliath site (www.daveyandgoliath.com) you'll see that the commercial is prominently mentioned, and won numerous awards. Since the Lutheran church owns all rights to Davey And Goliath, I doubt that they were upset concerning the ad. They would have had to have allowed the usage of the characters.

Bill Cosby did a PSA once a a few years ago telling kids that just because a person smokes doesn't make them a bad person. I only saw *that* ad one time...WTF
