Otis Is Goliath
It's true. Hal Smith who played Otis on the Andy Griffith show and also did many cartoon voices, was the voice of Goliath. Goliath would only talk to Davey, I wonder could anybody else hear Goliath?

shareNo...in a few episodes, Goliath "speaks" to Davey in front of others, but all they hear is his barking because afterward they would ask Davey what Goliath said. I have a theory that Goliath's talking was Davey's conscience "speaking" to him. Davey always got not so bright ideas to do things he was not supposed to (like going into the forbidden mine shaft). Goliath (his conscience) would reply his usual, "I don't know Davey, it doesn't look very safe." Of course Davey would do the wrong thing, and in the end he learned his lesson, all neatly tied up with a religious moral to the story, but it was fun to watch...
