Granny's hair..~need a close observer~

Ok strange question. But HOW would you do a bun like Granny's? It always looked to me like it was in TWO buns ~one on top of the other~... But did she separate her hair and make 2 buns for some reason? It seems like it had to be more complicated than THAT. Or was it done like a figure 8?

Any hair stylists or anyone who knows how to do different kinds of buns please answer!

And I KNOW it was a wig, but just wondering how are we supposed to THINK she did it, assuming her hair is real in their TV world.

My great-grandmother reminded me very much of "Granny", mostly because of the way she wore her hair, just like that.

How did she put it up, is it really in TWO buns one on top of the other, or is it like a double twist, like an 8 bun?

My grandmother's was one bun held up by pins. I always thought that's what her hair always looked like, until I saw her take it down before she went to bed, because it was very long and straight.

Enjoying season one and paused my DVR to examine Granny's hair. In the first episode, it's Irene's real hair brushed back and a bun, one, attached to her head in the back. Simple and realistic.
She even shows her legs on ep. 1 as she gets her feet hot at her still and puts her bare feet in a bucket. I cracked up when she lifted her skirt and showed her calves!

Her hair always reminds me of the mother's in Psycho.

Its the same style kinda as Olivia Foxworth in Flowers in the Attic, BUT I know how to do her hair style, it's a figure 8, But Granny's looks like one bun on top of the other.

I remember episodes where she has been up in the middle of the night in her nightgown and her hair in two long pigtails. I guess it would make sense that she would make two buns out of them during the day.

Yes it was in braids when she slept. It was funny b/c the braids only came to about her shoulders, but once when she was trying to entertain 2 gentlemen caller...~one liked her hair down~ and she was went back and forth putting it up and taking it down...it was past her waist.
