An interesting goof;

That I remember.

There was a crossover episode with Green Acres in which the Clampetts visited Green Acres and Eb fell for Ely Mae and wanted to leave with her.

There was also an episode of Green Acres in which the town was putting on a play for some reason and the play they chose was a stage version of the TV show "The Beverly Hillbillies".

I noticed it too, On G.A. they mention the Beverly Hillbillies several times. I just chalk it up to the weird Twilight Zone reality that G.A. takes place in.

That is almost certainly the wisest thing to do. Yup.

They did indeed to a play "The Beverly Hillbillies" on Green Acres. Oliver played Jethro.

But the episode with Eb and Elly Mae was on Petticoat Junction, when they had Granny playing baby doctor for Steve and Betty Jo's baby.

Green Acres loved to have characters mention TV shows and characters. I fondly recall them referring several times to Frank Nitti in the episode about the Farm convention.

(While the real Frank Nitti was a henchman of Al Capone, the references here were more along the lines of the character featured on the series The Untouchables.)

Green Acres was so wild and crazy that they couldn't be held accountable for anything! For instance, when Lisa could see the opening credits and hear the Fife playing during Oliver's speeches, you can't criticize anything about the show for minor errors. :)

>>>see the opening credits and hear the Fife playing during Oliver's speeches, you can't criticize anything about the show for minor errors. :)

and one of the "minor errors" scratch that.

it was a "major error".

one of the "major errors" that was committed several times on the show was later retconned into "not an error at all".

That's the one about how Oliver & Lisa met".

Several different versions. All contradicting each of the others. making it a "major error" multiple times.

yet they somehow managed to later make it into "not an error at all". Which actually made perfect sense, unlike most other things in "Green Acres"

I could say how, but don't want to put any spoilers in.

"Green Acres" was basically "Petticoat Junction" on acid

Well also the crossover with Petticoat Junction made no sense, since Bea Banaderet played Cousin Pearl but also Kate Bradley. For sure there was a BH show where they mentioned the two looked alike, and implied they were relatives so there was the connection.
