That existed back then? I'm going by how it was said Maria was brought to America to marry Chino and I'm guessing she didn't date him like Maria and Nardo were dating. So I'm guessing her marriage was arranged was that how it was done back then for Puerto Ricans or what?

It's very possible that a marriage between Maria and Chino had been arranged, but, since Maria clearly didn't care for Chino in that way, it didn't work out.
