Aquarium in the Sub???

Just how does it not overflow when the Seaview makes one of those 45 degree ascents to the surface. Logic says a big portion of the water in the aquarium would spill out.

Yes, I know logic doesn't usually apply in movies!!!

Yeah, this has been discussed here before. All the water would have poured out in that surfacing maneuver at the beginning...not to mention the shark.

Speaking of which...a shark tank with a narrow gangway the only way across it, and that with a railing less than a foot high, providing absolutely no protection against falling in -- but a very good trip hazard to help you to do so?! As Dr. Hiller found to her surprise. (But how come the shark didn't eat Captain Crane's arm, dangling in the water after he was knocked cold by the explosion that tossed Dr. H into the tank?)

RIP the ripped apart Dr. Hiller, a.k.a. Joan Fontaine, 1917-2013.

Possibly the aquarium has an automatic sliding cover that moves to cover the shark tank whenever the sub starts to tilt. And I guess anyone standing in the tank when the sub dives gets sliced in half by the automatic sliding cover.

reply

Sorry, we cannot assume facts not in evidence. No sliding cover. No, this is just another example of Irwin Allen's lack of concern for logic or continuity. Fun but don't think it through.
