Hammer's finest movie

This has to be Hammer's finest movie along with the new LET ME IN (2010).

Definitely the greatest old Hammer.

Agreed. Out of all Hammer's films, this is my absolute favorite. Sangster's best script, too, IMO.

I thought THE NANNY also excellent.

It's maybe the best of Hammer's black and white thrillers (many of which deserve to be much better known than they are). It's hard to compare Scream of Fear to the gothic horror films, considering how different the genres are.

I thought it was good. I didn't guess the twist. Great use of lights and shadows. What a beautiful and foreboding Mansion. It got my pulse racing.

Much, much, better than "Stop me before I kill!". Talk about a borefest. Nearly 2 hours of people gabbing before anything happens. The payoff isn't even worth it. Even "Point of terror" was more entertaining.
