Great little movie
Pre-dating 'TO SIR WITH LOVE' by a couple of years, this gritty, entertaining B-movie was a staple of afternoon TV matinees in the 70's & 80's.
Max Bygraves (although a household name for decades) never made many movies...but was very good in this. Plus it has a great supporting cast of beloved character actors.
The scene with the little boy having his coat forcibly removed by the teacher....only to reveal the fact that he has no trousers on underneath (and obviously comes from a poor household) is heartbreaking, to say the least.
