Being Outed

Did anyone catch Fritz Feld's character being outed by Hope Lange ? It happens in the scene when Bette Davis was about to get a full makeover and Glenn Ford tells Hope Lange that Fritz Feld being a man can't enter the room with the women. Hope Lange say's that it's OK for him to be in there, no need to worry about "THAT".

Hilarious! It's even funnier and cheekier in the original 'Lady for a Day'. Really worth checking out. Dude's line "Oh...Pieerrrre" is a gemlet and floored me.
"Miracles" seems packed with self-referential Capra stuff from his entire opus: various songs from earlier films("Daring young Man" from 'It happened One Night', for example),actors re-appearing (Sheldon Leonard) and names like Martino showing up in neon again. Be fun to hear what anyone else spotted...x

If ever there was a movie that called out for a Comentary on the DVD this would be it. Two of the stars are still alive would love to hear them talking about it. Ann Margaret and Peter Faulk. TMC has the rights to the film Well at least they are the only ones that show it. Would be nice to see them clean it up and do the Comentary from one of their Staff.

It's airing right now on TCM and the movie opens and ends with commentary from their film historian, Robert Osborne. Preceding this movie was Frank Capra's original version, Lady For a Day. Since I'm recording it, I won't watch it until this weekend. Not that it matters but to bring this post back on topic, Robert Osborne has long been rumored to be gay.

Pocketful of Miracles is great, but it does have many standard Capra elements. Either way, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Although, I haven't seen Lady For a Day, so I don't know if watching that will diminish the experience of PoM, since remakes have a tendency to not live up to their original counterparts. As for what you said about Robert Osborne, I must say that I was initially surprised to read that, but at the same time, I could see it being true. No matter, I still love him and what he does to spread the knowledge of film history. Plus, I love that his favorite Hitchcock film is also my favorite (Notorious), particularly since it seems to be overlooked as one of his all-time greats.

That's why you and I don't see eye-to-eye sometimes, Jack; because you're a man of science.

This movie has always been part of my Christmas week Vewing. I brought the DVD I have Sans the Comentary but Robert Osborne would be great I agree his Knowlidge of movies would be worth the price of a new DVD. Need to find Lady for a Day didn't know it was going to be on.

I thought that's what that was about! I made a similar remark to my friend when we watched this film. Interesting, subtle bit.

The comment would have been more appropiately directed at the great Edward Everett Horton, who really was gay. But then all actors are at least part gay (or 'bi', if you prefer)

I just love idiotic comments like "I never knew Osborne was gay, but no matter, I STILL like him"! What the hell is THAT supposed to mean? That you normally WOULDN'T like a gay person? God do people realize how they sound, or THINK before they type?

All actors are at least part gay? Where'd you get that from? I bet you wouldn't say that to Clint Eastwood's face!

If Osborne was gay, why would he have been basically discovered and pushed by Lucille Ball?

WTF? What does Lucy have to do with any of this ridiculous thread?
