The Animation

Don't get me wrong, I do like this film, but the animation looks very cheap to me. The characters are okay, it's just the background. I understand that it was made in the 60's but there are several movies that were made around this time that have better animation (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, etc)

Is this just me being picky or does anyone else not like the background animation?

The animation was all Xerography, which was a cheap way of animating things and gave a movie that "cheap" look that you are talking about. The reason that Disney used this type of animation is because it lost a ton of money when Sleeping Beauty was made.

I just saw it on a big-screen HD tv and it was beautiful. I paused it several times to just look at the scenes like a painting for a minute.
