Changes in the 101 Dalmatians we see today?

I grew up with the 101 Dalmatians LP record put out by Disney (Buena Vista?). I've seen the movie a couple of times in the last 10 years and I remember a couple of things being different when the movie first came out. Does anyone else remember that the car crash and screams of Cruella at the end of the film used to be longer and much more hideous? And the song Dalmatian Plantation that we hear now is TOTALLY different from the original release. I just wondered if anyone else noticed these things. Tony

I grew up with this movie and when I watched it again about a year and a half ago, I also thought that the car crash scene had been changed a little bit. But I think it may just be because when we were kids it just seemed much more frightening so we remembered it differently.

Dang-it!!! Why do they do that!?!? There's so many kids movies that poeple say they changed before releasing on VHS and DVD, and frankly, I'm sick of it. I understand editting for TV (for the sake of commercials and ratings), but the whole point of releasing it on tape and DVD was to get the entire movie!

I'm 25; I wasn't around to see "101" in the theatres when it was released, so I've got nothing to compare it to. And hearing about it and all the other movies being cut makes me sick.

101 -- "Oh, but seeing such a gruesome crash is too graphic for children to watch!" All Dogs Go To Heaven -- "Oh, but these are kids movies, and seeing Charlie ACTUALLY hit by the car will give them nightmares!" Song of the South -- "Oh, but he's a black man who's HAPPY! That's lying about the past!" Well then why don't you review the movie by yourself before you choose whether to show it to your child, and let the rest of us decide for ourselves! Stupid parents!

It hasn't been changed in any way. It's probably just that your mind plays tricks on you when remembering a film from childhood. :)
