How did there end up being 101 of them???

So we know they got up to 99 when the cat finds them and he gets told this but at the end when they are counted, that is the only time there are ever 101 of them, and where did the extra 2 come from???

Is this just something the audience are supposed to use their imaginations with??

Pongo and Perdita are counted as 2 bringing the total to 101.

Women and math are like women and logical thinking.

If you had both of those qualities, you wouldn't have had to ask.

In the novel there are 2 extra adult dogs. Pongo has a wife who isn't Perdita. Perdita (who is Pertida who lost her OWN puppies-her ex-owner sold them to Devillestays) home while Pongo and the wife go fetch the 15 puppies of Pongo's. At the end she and her 'husband', Prince (make up the 101 Dalmatnions) They're just missing 2 extra adult dogs/replaced them with 2 puppies

I assumed the cat was bad at counting and just told all the dalmation puppies to follow him...away from Cruella. Made sense to me. Cruella must have swiped dalmation puppies from several places, her 'friend' being only one of them.
