EXCELLENCE...

I just have to say that i saw this movie tonight and it's one of the best classic horror movies i have ever seen. I'm a young person and I do ususally go for the modern gore and guts but this movie runs on genuine scares and atmosphere and I was enthralled the whole time. I recommend this to anyone who appreciates older films of the genre because you get your moneys worth. GOOD FUN!

It was based on an excellent story by Ray Russell. See if you can get a used paperback somewhere. Very well-written, and very frightening.

I too found this film to be very creepy and enjoyable. I was genuinely surprised by the Baron Sardonicus' gleeful sadism. His penchant for torturing lovely young ladies was especially shocking and pretty bold stuff for an early 60's movie. Plus Guy Rolfe was terrific as the Baron, with fine support from Ronald Lewis as the compassionate doctor Sir Robert Cargrave and Oscar Homolka as the Baron's loyal, sinister one-eyed servant Krull.

300 bios and counting.

I'm watching it right now!

Cheers!

There are still a number of excellent movies being made, especially dramas such as the Hurt Locker. Unfortunately, Hollywood always thinks the horror/sci-fi audience is undiscriminating or consists mostly of the under 12 demographic, IMHO.
