Call me crazy, but i would swear that the mask Sardonicus wears is actually the face of William Castle himself! Go back and check it out and then get back to me on that.

I just saw the movie for the first time, and as soon as Mr S walked into the scene with the mask I thought it looked a lot like William Castle.

But then after looking at Guy Rolfe in the flashback sequence a case could be made for the mask looking like him as well.

I thought the combination of hair and mask made Guy Rolfe look a bit like a frozen-faced Tom Hanks.

Maybe Tom Hanks could play Sardonicus in a remake/reboot/reimagining. That would definitely be casting against type!

are you guys kidding? put a still of the mask between photos of guy rolfe and wm. castle. it looks nothing like castle, but a heck of a lot like rolfe. its sort of an idealized rolfe, mannequin like, so can looks a little like anybody you imagine it to, but its certanly based on rolfe's own facial structure.

Exactly. I don't know how anyone could think that mask looked like William Castle.
