So, what is the thinking - She only sat on his lap in a 'daughterly' way? (i.e. they were not lovers, just very close)
Judy Garland was just excellent in that role!
'There’s a name for you ladies, but it’s not used - Outside a kennel! (Crystal Allen in The Women)'
I just watched that part. haven't watched the rest of the film though. Judy Garland was very sympathetic and memorable in that scene to me. wow! what a scene.
~I love the rhythm it is my methoood!~
I've always loved his work. He is all-consuming in his roles. You might want to check out the documentary he made about his beautiful sister titled, Meine Schwester Maria.
shareTo be included in such a monumental cast, and yet still able to stand out with such a powerful performance. A clear textbook case of Earning That Academy Award!
"I'm not reckless . . . I'm skillful!"
This line made me burst out laughing. It was probably the "You're the man now, dawg!" of its time.
"What I don't understand is how we're going to stay alive this winter."
Just watched this movie for the first time and WOW, this scene was amazing and wrenchingly powerful.
Kinich-Ahau / Kukulcan in 2012!
One flaw---later in his cross examination, Schell demanded "Did you do anything else?" and Garland clearly answered "No". He continued to ask the question--that's when Widmark should've objected with "the witness has already answered the question"---his objection would have been sustained. But both Schell and Garland were great. See Max in "Topkapi".
