Richard Widmark
Richard Widmark's in this film is generally overlooked I find. His performance is just simply excellent; his opening statement in the courtroom is very powerful, damning yet simple and to the point. And also his character is quite interesting, he's has a tremendous amount of hatred towards the Nazis that no doubt has largely stemmed from witnessing their atrocities first hand; which has become a great burden and weighs heavily on his mind; the scene where he appears quite drunk I think is a clear indication of that.
