I thought Shatner rocked in this role. It was so very delightful to see him!

Yay Shat-man!

And even in 1961, Shatner when excited still! talks! the! same!

Shatner in an interview said that he studied Spencer Tracey very carefully since most everyone was in such awe of him and his non chalant acting style...However he used to retire to his trailer not fraternizing with most of the other people on the set...Possibly quietly drinking -and his health was failing at this point in his life.

I can just image how he felt doing a film with stars like Tracy, Burt, Richard,
Dietrich, etc, etc. He had to be on cloud nine.

Yeah, 30 years old and working with that cast. Shatner didn't do too many movies (and many of them not too good), and his role in Judgment at Nuremberg isn't large -- he's in it throughout but doesn't have lots of lines -- but when he does have a few good scenes he really makes the most of them. The role may be limited but I think it's his best screen performance. It shows what he was capable of before he let his talent run away with him.
