The (Nearly) Last Hurrah
Seen this movie a ton of times. To me, it ranks with Casablanca, All About Eve, The Godfather as one of the greatest acted movie. Seems like everyone fed off each other and took it up a notch.
But this film was also the last great turn for many of the actors. Tracy had only two more acting roles. One credited role for Marlene Dietrich. Two more acting roles in film for Judy Garland. Two more for Monty Clift. Some of these films were good, some not as much. Only Spencer Tracy's films were memorable.
Quite a swan song...
Ask not that The Good Man can do for you but what you can do for The Good Man
