In the poster, Lancaster is not in Character (Make-Up)
I just noticed this:
In the fine and rather famous poster for Judgment at Nuremberg -- in which each of the film's illustrious stars are grouped together in individual profile portraits--Burt Lancaster does his profile painting without wearing the "old-age" make-up of Janning's gray hair and moustache.
I guess the folks looking to sell the downbeat "Nuremberg" wanted to promote the movie with the good-looking Burt Lancaster of his real age at the time.
Or perhaps Lancaster demanded it.
