I would put Pamela Franklin's performance right up there with Martin Stephens. Both are brilliant and it's amazing that they were being giving the script pages as they filmed and not all at once.Clayton wanted spontaneity from the children and imo,he got it.

I agree fully! The boy is a phenomenon! He should have been nominated for the Oscar. And have won! Only Freddie Bartholomew is as good as him.

Yes, it's also very funny to think Martin Stephens is the leader of the children in Village of the Damned. He was one scary kid. Hopefully he's not as menacing as an adult.

Stephens pulled off the difficult trick of making you feel sorry for Miles while also finding him menacing and threatening. According to Imdb he ended his acting career when he came of age--I wonder why?
