Shadow On The Wall, Was There One?

I was a kid when I first saw The Innocents and I could've sworn that there was a creepy shadow of a man inside the mansion, cast upon a wall but no body was actually there to cast the shadow. Last night I watched it for the first time since then (on The Criterion Bluray) and didn't see the shadow, so either I got mixed up with a different black and white horror movie or the film was edited.

Does anybody remember that scene and if it wasn't from The Innocents, which movie was it from?

Are you thinking of the original THE HAUNTING (1963)?

I wonder if that could be it. I don't remember seeing that movie, though.

It's the only ghost/haunted house movie that can give THE INNOCENTS a run for its money.

I'll have to check it out.
