Who changed the diapers?
I appears to me that somehow the father was around when the baby was being changed. The premise was kind of farfetched as far as that aspect is observed.

shareDidn't they say the father was away a lot on business or something? Could be he wasn't around much when 'Warren' was a little one and needed tending to. In any case, wasn't that what the old woman was for?
shareYes, there was mention of his being away a lot, which could account for the deception. The old woman did her job well, despite her unfortunate demise.
shareThe movie was made in 1961 and so "Warren" would have been born circa 1940. It certainly is credible that in that era a father would have never changed a diaper, certainly an affluent one. It wouldn't surprise me if quite a few rich mothers have never changed a diaper.
shareYeah, but it's still a bit farfetched that the father would go to his grave never ever realizing that his offspring was a girl instead of a boy. That one is a little hard to believe.
