Entertaining but improbable

I have seen this movie a few times. It is difficult to believe, not to put it more strongly, that a young woman could pretend to be a young man and carry it off for any length of time. But perhaps there is no point in expecting these movies to be strictly realistic.

I should say not, basing movies that could scare people, on true stories, was Hitchcock's job. Besides, what does it matter if it's probable or not? It's not Cold Cases, it's a murder movie that sent a lot of the 60's audience to the Coward's Corner.

Many thanks for your thoughts - I think the best William Castle movie is MACABRE, 1958

Have you never seen a woman to man transsexual? I've seen my share of women to men and I can tell you that in some cases, you'd never know they were women.

What about that "man" that just gave birth to that baby a few months ago. If he hadn't delivered a baby, you would never have known that physically, he was a woman.

There are definitely some trannies that can pull that off believably.

I say what I mean and mean what I say. It's just that simple.

There's that jazz musician Billy somebody who was never very big who when he died in the 1990's it was discovered he was actually a woman, so obviously some can pull it off, but back to the OP's comment it was "improbable", aren't 90 percent of movie storylines improbable anyway?

And don't forget Boys Don't Cry, a true story of a woman who lived as a man.

the only improbable thing about this film is that Miriam could shoot Warren with a single shot, and without hitting the Doc.

Maybe she took gun training at the Solvang Firearms Range!

More likely she scrubbed the toilets at Neverland.

What is the sound an imploding pimp makes?

Warren's parents died a few years after he was born, and his father went to his grave thinking that Warren was a boy.

What seems really improbable to me is that Warren's father never knew that his child was a girl.

I guess we are to believe that he NEVER saw his child naked, never witnessed a diaper change (not even one) or walked in on his kid being bathed, toilet trained, etc. Lol! He never saw the nanny helping Warren get dressed?

Warren never took his/her clothes off like playful toddlers do? Apparently Warren was never taken to the local doctor for anything either. lol.

And really, if having a son was SO important to Warren's father, he would have checked, don't you think?
