Way ahead of its time!

Robb White truly was ahead of his time with this screenplay. I saw the film when I was only 9 and I think Homicidal was one of the first frightening movies I had ever seen. The campiness was great and the violence was ahead of it's time, but the gender bender story was Way ahead of it's time. I watched this 3 times and remember a girlfriends mother thinking there was something wrong with me for watching it so many times it being so gruesome and all...ha ha.

This movie was recently recommended to me by an avid movie watcher. I have definitely heard of William Castle through his movies, "13 Ghosts" and "The Tingler" so I was compelled to see it. Of course when you know there is a big twist you immediately begin looking for it. Once I saw that Emily and Warren would not be seen together on screen I knew that they were one and the same.
I wonder how this movie would have been received if it came out before "Psycho"?

The wedding scene was bloody wonderful.

ok, i know this was made way back in the 60's but what was a prescription for strichnine used for? i know it was once used to kill rodents but remember emily said that she was picking it up for helga. does anyone know if it was ever used on humans? helga was a stroke survivor, but seems that stuff would finish her off. even karl said "its some powerful stuff"~~~~ yeah it was way ahead of its time with the idenity theft angle too, emily/warren using miriam's name then killing the preacher guy. good times.

Strychnine was used as a laxative and a stimulant before better alternatives were available.

So true! I thought 'The Crying Game' was a new concept, but, obviously not!

‘Six inches is perfectly adequate; more is vulgar!' (Prime of Miss Jean Brodie Re: An open window).

A large quantity of malted milk balls is a viable alternative.
