who was the man in the suit?

The complete list of credits shows a number of stunt people. Does anyone know who was the man in the Gorgo suit???

This is a mystery I have been wanting to solve for a long time. I am sure it is one of the stunt men mentioned and I plan to find out somehow and will let you know if I find out.

It was recently revealed that stuntman Mick Dillon was one of three stuntmen played Gorgo. Unfortunately he died recently. Below is a link to an obituary on the Classic Horror Forums:

What guy in a suit? That was a real sea dragon. Two in fact.

Yep, they were real sea dragons. Knowing that made the film all the more believable to me. It's especially obvious in Blu-ray:)
