I've seen discussions elsewhere of VCI releasing Gorgo on Blu-ray.
Has anyone heard about this?

The current street date for both the new Blu-ray and the DVD from VCI is listed as March 19, 2013.
VCI will also be releasing a two-fer DVD of THE CRAWLING HAND/THE SLIME PEOPLE on the same day, both letterboxed for the first time.

After posting my question, I decided to see if I could reach VCI myself. The woman I spoke to also mentioned the March 19th date, but didn't offer the extra information you did.

The same day, VCI will also release MONSTER FROM THE OCEAN FLOOR paired with SERPENT ISLAND on another two-fer. OCEAN FLOOR will have an audio phone interview with Roger Corman, and will have some deleted scenes. On the other two-fer, THE SLIME PEOPLE will have an audio phone intervew with Susan Hart Nicholson. The GORGO disc will have a brand new documentary as well as a bunch of other supplementary features. All of these have a street date of March 19, at least for now.
