Confusing this with another WW movie beginning with woman in jail

There's a thread here discussing why Leon was born a werewolf, but after a recent viewing I realize I was confusing this movie (which I've seen at least a half dozen times over the years) with another one with a similar beginning.

I remember watching a movie on TV when I was a kid (mid 1960s) in which a beautiful peasant woman was thrown into a big cell with dozens of dogs in it. About that time my mother came in the room and asked what I was watching. When I told her that it was a horror movie and that the woman in the scene was going to give birth to a werewolf, she took a good look at what was going on and got really upset and told me I shouldn't be watching this. As I recall, though, I did get to finish the movie.

Am I imagining this, or does anyone know what movie that was?
