Was This Film on Before Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?

One of my earliest memories was going to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (in the West End of London) and I vaguely remember that it was preceded by a film about a school where some kids had some springs in their shoes and won a basketball match. My memory is undoubtedly hazy from nearly 40 years ago, but that's what (I think) I remember. Was this the same film?

Ian Fleming (that's right...Ian Fleming of "James Bond" authorship) wrote "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" for his son, and it was first published in 1964, so the story of Chitty came along well after "The Absent Minded Professor". It is said that Fleming named the car after a bunch of earlier race cars called Chitty Bang Bang. You very possibly watched "The Absent Minded Professor" along with "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" at the theater because during that time, they'd pair up older films with newer films for families to watch.

That could be why I remember seeing this film too at the Theater. Might of been the Double Feature at The Atlas Theater in Detroit back in 1960's.
