#1. At the start of the last period, what was the "Rutland Cheer"?

The J.C. Whitney automotive supply catalog used to list a horn of the type that was on the model T.

I dont know who's hand it was but I think on old fashined scoreboards they used to have to change the score manually like that.

The metallic banging could be stomping in the stands, without turning it back on I can't say for absolute sure. I know at high school football games they would stomp like that and the bleachers would rattle and bang like that.

OH! THAT makes sense. They DID make a LOT of noise when I was in High School.
