Placement of flubber.

I'm not sure that structurally the flubber could lift the car properly if it is suspended under the bonnet in the manner that it was in the film. It would be better if placed at points where axles connects with the frame, and as far towards the corners as possible for stability.

Initially, I agreed with your theory, but me and a buddy did some experimentation and discovered that, yes, it does work better if placed under the bonnet.

Starrbeat presents what's happening.

reply

I'd be very interested in seeing your results, actually.

reply

... it's a movie it doesn;t matter that it wouldn't work because can a substance like that be made? so even if it wouldn't work under the bonnet it wouldn't matter because it doen't exist.

reply

The film insinuates that such a substance does exist. Everything should follow from that insinuation.

reply

Idiot.

reply

The technical advisor? I'd agree.

I had the same thought, that the flubber would drag the car up nose first.
But then realised that the properties of flubber extend throughout the body of the car. The molecular integration modifies the entire car to have properties of flubber.
The same effect happens when flubber is placed on the shoes. the persons body becomes one big flubber ball.
