Its Last Season

When this show started I was 12 years old. I watched it every week back then. For the first 2 or 3 seasons anyway. By the time it went off the air in 1966 I was 16, and I wasn't watching it anymore. I was a teenager with lots of other stuff to do. I don't believe I watched the show at all in its last 2 seasons. Why did they only do 13 episodes in its last season? Back on those days they didn't normally cancel shows in mid-season, and especially not established ones like this was. So what happened? Why did they only order 13 episodes in season 6? Anybody know?

I'm not sure but I think they knew the show was starting to run its course. The Kirkwoods weren't even brought back in Season 6. It was mostly full of spy episodes, which I liked by the way.

I just viewed the interview with Alan Young on the new DVD set and he said they were cancelled mid-season. That was kind of rare back then.
