MISTER ED.....1958?

I am confused why IMDB changed the date of MISTER ED from 1961 to 1958. The show ran from 1961-1966. Does anyone have the answer to this?

The original pilot was recorded in 1958, and although it lacks a lot, it's very easy to see that it's obviously the same script they just re-wrote for the 1961 debut episode.

I was wondering that too.

I swear I saw this show when it first came out.
That would have been in 1961-ish..
I was 5-6 at the time and was fascinated by Mr Ed.
1958 would have been to early for me to have any lasting memories since I was born in 1955.

If memory serves me well I believe Studebaker was the main sponsor...

Think OutSide of the 'Box'!

- Alan Young says you have to "drive the Lark to believe it." My mom drove the '59 Lark my dad had before they married. She didn't believe (in) it...... she "Hated It!" haha But I wouldn't mind having one now.
