Episode where someone spreads a rumour about Laura?

Talking about this wonderful show with Mary's passing yesterday and someone asked about an episode where someone spreads a rumour about Laura. They remember her receiving a phone call from a stranger asking her about the rumour. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I looked through various episode guides, but nothing sounded right. Thanks if anyone can help!

Maybe it's the episode "October Eve"? In that episode, a portrait of Laura in the nude resurfaces in an art gallary. Sally happens to see it and calls Laura to tell her about it. Laura is, of course, mortified. As it turns out, Laura was fully clothed when having her portrait painted, and the sleazy "artist" took it upon himself, using his imagination, to paint her in the nude. Carl Reiner played the artist. A really hilarious episode! A great "Laura" episode, and there were many. Miss Tyler Moore was simply brilliant! May she rest in peace.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll pass it on! Hard to narrow it down when you're talking about a good "Laura" episode. She did have so many. There will never be another Mary Tyler Moore, she was indeed one of a kind.

You're very welcome! It's one of my favorite episodes! I agree, Mary Tyler Moore was something very special. Not likely to see the likes of her again.
